Job Summary

The Electrical Engineer Project Manager will provide project management oversight for assigned projects with responsibility for quality, cost and schedule with the capabilities to handle projects up to 20MM total installed cost.


Job Duties:

Responsibilities include managing multiple projects with multiple engineering firms simultaneously to provide creative engineered designs in compliance with all applicable industry, local, state and federal codes and regulations.  A strong Electrical Power Engineering background required, along with experience in Load Flow Studies, Short Circuit Analysis, Arc Flash Analysis, and Protective Relaying coordination. The successful candidate will support operations by providing, on an emergency and routine basis, diagnoses and resolution of basic technical problems; solve the problems by working with people of different skill levels covering all aspects of engineering - automation, equipment, piping, electrical, and civil. Additional duties include:

  • Assist with technical programs - protective relaying data base, ETAP (Electrical Transient Analysis Program) modeling, MULTILIN relays set up.
  • Assist in the development, review and oversight of engineering design standards and construction specifications 
  • Assist with capital budget development via project estimating procedures
  • Assist in directing and coordinating team or task force effort toward the solution of major project development and design issues
  • Develop solutions to engineering problems which require the use of ingenuity and creativity
  • Analyze scope of project and determining engineering requirements, establishing criteria, developing economic and feasibility studies  and evaluating engineering designs and procedures
  • Provide counsel and assistance in technical matters to engineers, technicians and supervisory personnel

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering plus five (5) or more years of field experience
  • Computer Skills: SAP, Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, project scheduling, estimating, familiarity with the internet, design tools – ETAP software
  • Valid Driver’s License required
  • Intermediate level familiarity with industry standards and specifications related to the electrical equipment and electrical design in the refining industry, preferred
  • Five (5) or more years of project FEL (front end loading) process experience, preferred
  • Ability to manage assigned projects under general supervision

Eligibility Requirements:

The Maritime Transportation Security Act requires all persons who will need unescorted access to a regulated facility to have a valid Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC), issued in accordance with the rules established by the United States Coast Guard and the Transportation Security Administration. Candidates selected for employment must meet eligibility criteria to obtain a TWIC card.
