Job Summary

Manage the logistic operations that are in direct support of CITGO’s Shareholder Operations (Refining, Gas, Exploration and Production).  Responsible for ensuring that the right products are delivered to the right location on time and at the lowest delivery cost possible. Logistic Manager may also be involved in transportation, stock control, warehousing and monitoring the flow of goods. The Logistic Manager will supervise other Logistic Personnel. Review, negotiate, and approve major logistics and transportation agreements for delivery of goods to our shareholder. Monitor the service levels and performance of the Logistic Providers. Manage the operating budget logistic and invoice payment activities. Handle all administrative and personnel related issues concerning the logistic groups. A Procurement Logistic Manager is responsible for negotiation with external vendors to secure advantageous terms.

Minimum Qualifications

College Degree (Bachelor's Level)

An equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted in lieu of a degree


A minimum of 3 to 5 years of job related experience required  



Job Duties

  1. Manage and direct the on-going logistics and transportation activities of the shareholder purchasing organization. This includes direct involvement in the negotiation, review and selection of transportation and logistics. Monitoring the performance of the logistic, delivery and receipt of goods at the lowest total cost of ownership.
  2. Develop optimal cost analysis and recommendations for the delivery of goods to Venezuela.  
  3. Monitor the performance and provide feedback to the Logistics Contractors regarding their performance through regular meetings with their Management. Provide reports on performance and recommendations for improvements to the GM Procurement.
  4. Develop and prepare weekly activity reports, including key performance indicators.
  5. Supervise logistic personnel.
  6. Interface with the Shareholder Procurement Managers to prioritize shipments in the most cost effective manner.
