Job Summary

  • Develops and manages the implementation of compensation processes such as job evaluation, competitive analysis, merit planning, bonus planning, salary administration, executive plan administration and special studies.
  • Establishes company-wide procedures and directs the documentation of compensation processes.
  • Develops solutions and new approaches to address compensation issues.
  • Addresses highly sensitive issues with high level Executive and Management groups.
  • Represents CITGO at various professional meetings.
  • Makes presentations to communicate compensation processes, issues and results.
  • Assists in the establishment and management of annual departmental budget.

Minimum Qualifications

Education

Bachelors degree in Business Administration, Human Resources or related

 

Experience

10+ years experience in Compensation Planning and Administration. Strong computer skills are required. SAP HRMS knowledge and experience. Experience in compensation issue resolution, marketplace & high-level analytical techniques, presentations and management/supervision for work performed within General Compensation.

 

Job Duties

  1. Manages CITGO’s job evaluation systems for exempt and nonexempt salaried employees. Directs the implementation of these systems, develops communications, educates managers and supervisors and determine the band assignment for all exempt and nonexempt jobs.
  2. Directs CITGO’s participation in national, regional and local salary surveys. Establishes and maintains business contacts in survey groups and other companies to provide resource information to CITGO. Represents CITGO at various survey meetings and informal discussions. Provides steering committee assistance to improve survey processes.
  3. Develops market analysis methodologies and directs annual market study and special studies as needed. Recommends salary adjustments and structure changes based on the results of these analyses. Develops Total Compensation studies.
  4. Develops proposal for Bonus Planning process and manages process implementation. Develops communications and trains others such as HR Managers, HR Consultants and Compensation professionals in the details for program implementation.
  5. Develops program proposal for annual Merit Increase Planning process and manages process implementation. Develops communications and trains others such as HR Managers, HR Consultants and Compensation Analysts in the details for program implementation.
  6. Prepares and establishes procedures and directs the documentation of Compensation processes.
  7. Develops solutions and new approaches to address Compensation issues. Conducts special studies, analyses and evaluations to meet specific business needs. Develops communication plans and presentations related to new and existing processes. Prepares special analyses and presentations for inclusion in Board presentations.
  8. Works with Executive Compensation Manager to implement Officer Salary and Bonus Planning processes
