Work within the Lubricants organization to provide creative services, including design of cartons, labels, bottles, business communications, corporate advertising and promotional elements.
Provide input on creative work plans to develop effective design direction.
Meet with internal clients, agency partners, vendors and department team members to ensure that design and production goals are met while closely monitoring cost.
Guide and oversee agency graphic artists as well as contract designers on the execution of production art to ensure that the design integrity and message are carried through every phase of a project.
Participate in development of strategies for brand image and lubricants marketing message.
12 years of graphics design experience in lieu of degree; or
7 years of experience with an Associate’s degree/Trade/Technical School
Specialized training or unique skills:
Must possess extensive knowledge of computer graphics software.
Exceptional design and layout skills required.
Must possess strong communication skills and be able to work in a team environment.
As part of the Lubricants Manufacturing and Packaging team participate with development of project goals and budget parameters for the design of labels, cartons, product information sheets and product guidebooks. Once creative work plan is in place and creative direction established, use experience and artistic design abilities to translate elements into effective designs that enhance CITGO lubricant offerings to our consumers. Communicate and provide to our third party support agencies the design criteria needed to meet project and legal expectations.
Use specialized graphic design technology and design training to development, produce and communicate digital graphic projects. Utilize specific knowledge and experience to incorporate desktop publishing concepts used to execute final design of finished digital media. Ensure digital assets are prepared in a manner that facilitates efficient and cost effective project completion.
Work closely with Lubricants Sr. Packaging Material Manager to create, edit and proof label image files, manage and support on line CAMS and other graphic approval processes. Research and incorporate current and emerging graphic/design industry trends. Keep abreast of new technical resources and developing software. Provide instructions and updates for internal work teams. Coordinate development of production art with graphic artists in agency partners, contract designers and/or CITGO Brand Development department.
Support newly acquired business by patterning Customer label design to fit our exclusive bottle and carton templates. Create realistic computer generated images of packaged products to be used prior to their commercial roll out for advertising brochures, promotional communications, websites and PowerPoint presentations. Create labels with multiple languages to support Branded and Private Label business. Ensure labeling and packaging compliance with U.S. and Foreign Packaging Guidelines and Laws.
Secure, organize and protect digital assets through performance of timely data backup. Archive and manage digital assets to ensure future timely retrieval.
