Job Summary

Proactively manage the work processes with Lubes Operation personnel and outside companies on inventory issues before potential negative financial or operational impact occurs. Provide direction and analysis on proposed transactions allowing for a positive financial impact and proper accounting for CITGO. 


Some travel may be required.

Minimum Qualifications


  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics or related field

Specialized training or unique skills required:

  • Candidate must have extensive SAP knowledge and computer skills. Lubes experience preferred. In depth analytical skills in problem solving complex issues required. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to develop, and maintain, positive relationships with customers and co-workers. Ability to deal with multiple priorities.
  • The minimum number of years of job related experience required by this job is 2.



Job Duties

  1. Conducting, documenting, and analyzing moderate to complex contract plant SAP inventory transactions. Researches and collects data on discrepancies. Discretion, evaluation and creative thinking is required to determine the appropriate action to maintain Lubes inventories for finished and packaged lubes and greases, blending, and packaging materials.
  2. Provides functional guidance to outside companies as well as Lubes Operation personnel through training and documenting the following SAP processes: inventory, sales orders, purchase orders, contracts and other miscellaneous SAP transactions.
  3. Formats and analyzes monthly plant inventory results by preparing reports and charts to satisfy management requests and those of our internal and external auditors.
  4. Analyze and process inventory transactions such as: good receipts, good issues, material transfers, and the production and consumption of inventory in the Lubes manufacturing processes.   Inadequate processing can result in misstated inventories.
  5. Calculates and records monthly processing fees associated with the outside blending/packaging plants per contractual terms. Verifies all charges against applicable contract for correctness. Any discrepancies are reviewed with the outside plant and brought to resolution.
  6. Performs physical inventories including tank gauging and inventory counts at Third Party plants. Prepares inventory schedule letter and SAP documents for physical inventory. Records inventory count and compares results to contract.
  7. Conducts simple to complex transactions as requested by supervisor.
  8. Provides input to department supervisor regarding suggestions or revisions to processes that would streamline the business process. Attend meetings where necessary to provide representation for Lubes Accounting department.
