Job Summary

Providing Network Security Administration to all CITGO's users so that they can carry out their responsibilities for their daily job functions. Such security services will most often take the form of Network Access Administration, operation of security software tools on behalf of other business units, and monitor all CITGO's Network activities.

Minimum Qualifications

Junior or Senior pursuing a bachelors or masters in a technology related field.  Would prefer candidates with Network Security interests. 

 

Skills include:  Must be self-motivated, team player, and committed to the department and CITGO.

Job Duties

  1. Enforce network security and information asset protection policies and procedures assisted by technology to protect CITGO information assets in accordance with the acceptable risk levels determined by information asset owners. With the goal to ensure CITGO network security infrastructure provides an effective level of protection consistent with acceptable risk levels.
  2. Participate in the development of technical designs and implement (configure or code) software solutions to support business process improvements.  Development may include custom programming using CITGO approved development tools and/or package software configuration.
  3. Participate in the Implementation and maintenance of information system security schemes to provide confidentiality, integrity and availability of CITGO information assets at Houston and remote sites.  Ensure that assets are protected through monitoring and incident response.
  4. Configures and maintains user access to CITGO network resources and data based on corporate policies, procedures and standards. Providing end users with least privilege required for job requirements. Independently investigate production system problems/questions ascertaining root cause and corrective action needed.
  5. Conduct network security awareness programs to educate CITGO management, employees, and information asset owners on information asset protection policies and procedures to ensure each employee understands his/her role in protecting CITGO network assets.
  6. Participates in the planning processes of all CITGO network security projects.  Create plans, provides estimated target dates and tracks project progress.
  7. Must work well in a team setting.
  8. Good verbal and written communication skills.
  9. Must be willing to work in a flexible environment which is fast paced and customer driven.
