Job Summary

Supervise two employees and their operation of pipeline systems and terminal operations in the Pipeline Control Center.  Have the ability to relieve those same employees during vacation, sickness and other vacancies. 

Minimum Qualifications

High School Diploma or equivalent.  

 

Use of PC and associated software. Must have the ability to handle multiple operations and task occurring in succession or concurrently.

 

The minimum number of years of job related experience required by this job is 5.

 

 

Job Duties

  1. Supervise controllers at the two consoles operating owned pipeline systems and terminals.  Assist controllers with malfunctions, emergencies and multiple activity events.
  2. Provide relief for two operating consoles for vacancies due to vacation, sickness, fatigue mitigation, and regulatory testing/training.
  3. Conduct monthly safety meetings with shift personnel.  Attend monthly alarm management meetings.  Ensure Control Room Management requirements are met according to the plan.
  4. Review operating manuals and ensure correctness in procedures.  Assist in the writing of new operating procedures and make changes as necessary in current procedures.
  5. Investigate near misses and events adverse to safe efficient pipeline operation and make recommendations of resolve.  Ensure that reductions in MOP due to analysis of inspection is documented and relayed to operating personnel.
  6. Assist in the training of controllers as new employees and for compliance with Operator Qualification Requirements.
  7. Perform EDP and make contribution recommendation for employees supervised.  Assist in interviewing new hires and recommend most qualified candidate.
