    Job Summary

    CITGO, based in Houston, is a refiner, transporter, and marketer of transportation fuels, lubricants, petrochemicals and other industrial products. The company is owned by CITGO Holding, Inc., an indirect, wholly-owned subsidiary of Petroleos de Venezuela, S.A., the national oil company of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela. CITGO has more than 3,400 employees, a combined aggregate crude oil refining capacity of 749,000 bpd and 48 owned and/or operated petroleum product terminals, which position us as one of the largest most complex independent refiners in the U.S.

     

    This internship will provide visibility into a generalist role which provides involvement in all matters of day-to-day human resources activities. Also, the intern will be involved in recruiting, employee relations, and learning the human resources information systems. The intern will experience a broad overview of human resources and gain insight on what a career in human resources has to offer.

     

    This is an internship position for the Fall of 2018 at the CITGO Refinery in Lake Charles, LA. which could continue into 2019.

     

    There is an opportunity to work 20-30 hours/wk. in Fall and Spring and 40 hours/wk. in Summer.

     

    Relocation is not available for this position.

     

     

     

     

    Minimum Qualifications

    *Valid Driver's License

    *Full-time student (Sophomore, Junior or Senior)

    *Pursuing a Bachelor's Degree in Management with a concentration in Human Resource Management, Business, Psychology, or related field and completed 30 semester hours (Soph, JR, or SR)

    *Overall GPA of 3.0 GPA (A=4.0)

    * The Maritime Transportation Security Act requires all persons who will need unescorted access to a regulated facility to have a valid Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC), issued in accordance with the rules established by the United States Coast Guard and the Transportation Security Administration.  Candidates selected for employment must meet eligibility criteria to obtain a TWIC card.
