    Job Summary

    This is a Process Control Internship position in Automation for the summer of 2018 at the CITGO Corpus Christi Refinery. This position is located in the Automation Department. The Intern will become familiar with Process Control and how it applies to the Refinery process.

    Minimum Qualifications

    *If currently enrolled in a bachelor's program, must be at least a junior level Chemical Engineering, Electrical Engineering or Computer Science student.

    GPA of 3.0 or above (A=4.0)




    *If enrolled in a graduate level program, must be enrolled part time in Business, Chemical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or relevant field.



    Candidates must be able to obtain a TWIC (Transportation Worker Identification Credentials Card)


    ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS: The Maritime Transportation Security Act requires all persons who will need unescorted access to a regulated facility to have a valid Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC), issued in accordance with the rules established by the United States Coast Guard and the Transportation Security Administration. Candidates selected for employment must meet eligibility criteria to obtain a TWIC card.

    The following link lists the eligible criteria for all persons trying to obtain a TWIC card:



    *Must have current valid drivers license.*

    Job Duties

    • Assist CCR Process Control Engineers with base level process control support tasks.
    • Update alarm management spreadsheets weekly and support Control Engineers in managing “bad actor” alarms.
    • Provide support on edits or additions to DCS graphics.
    • Review current complex loop documentation and work with Control Engineers to revise and organize this documentation.
    • Provide support on projects with significant automation scope, MOC’s, and shadow hardware checks or fixes performed in the field.
