    Job Summary

    The Associate Reliability Engineer proactively supports the development and implementation of ideas to improve plant reliability and reduce maintenance costs.

    Minimum Qualifications

    Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering or an equivalent degree

    *Overall GPA of 3.0 or greater (A=4.0)

    *Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite


    Candidates must be able to obtain a TWIC (Transportation Worker Identification Credentials Card)


    ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS: The Maritime Transportation Security Act requires all persons who will need unescorted access to a regulated facility to have a valid Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC), issued in accordance with the rules established by the United States Coast Guard and the Transportation Security Administration. Candidates selected for employment must meet eligibility criteria to obtain a TWIC card.

    *Must have current valid drivers license.*

    Job Duties

    • Identify opportunities for improvement in areas of safety, equipment reliability, and preventative maintenance.
    • Proactively support the development and implementation of ideas to improve plant reliability and reduce maintenance costs.
    • Provide daily engineering support and technical assistance on repairs to plant equipment, ensuring projects comply with health, safety and environmental requirements.  
    • Deliver repair scope recommendations and assure that the fabrication material, methods and strategies are consistent with industry codes and CITGO practices and procedures.
    • Support the planning and execution stages of turnaround maintenance.
    • Assist with root cause failure analysis of plant equipment and the development of reliability improvement recommendations.
