    Job Summary

    Associate Electrical Engineer:

     

    Develop electrical and instrumentation projects for Terminals and Pipelines, including electrical power distribution, instrumentation and controls, automation and data communications. Provide technical support to field operations and maintenance personnel, including E&I technicians. Become familiar with corporate and department safety, engineering and project procedures, industry standards and specifications, and use this information during project development and execution. Develop project front-end engineering documents for electrical and instrumentation projects and participate in detailed engineering and procurement activities, as required. Work in project teams with other engineers to provide engineering support to Civil, Mechanical, Piping and other related discipline projects in the electrical, instrumentation and control, data communication and automation related areas. Perform project management functions for projects assigned including monitoring the work performed by contract engineering companies during all phases of the projects. Provide the engineering support required during the construction phase to projects and participate in the root cause analysis of problems as needed.

    Minimum Qualifications

    Associate Electrical Engineer:

    Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering

     

    Industry Standards: Basic level of familiarity with industry standards and specifications related to the project work; design, construction, and operation.

    Interpersonal Skills:  Good written and oral communication skills.

    Project Mgmt: Ability to manage assigned projects under direct supervision.  

     

    The minimum number of years of job related experience required by the Associate Electrical Engineer job is 0-2.

     

    Willingness to travel on a regulary basis; approximately 90% of the time.

     

    Electrical Engineer/Sr. Electrical Engineer:

    Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering

     

    Computer Skills: SAP, word processing, spreadsheets, power point presentations, Microsoft project, estimating, ETAP, familiarity with the internet, advanced knowledge of electrical design tools.

    Industry Standards: Advanced level of familiarity with industry standards and specifications related to project work, including design, construction, and operations of electrical systems.

    Interpersonal Skills: Good written and oral communication skills.

    Project Mgmt:  Ability to manage assigned projects under limited supervision.

     

    The minimum number of years of job related experience required for the Electrical Engineer job is 4.

    The minimum number of years of job related experience required for the Sr. Electrical Engineer job is 8.

     

    Willingness to travel 10 - 25%.

    Job Duties

    Associate Electrical Engineer:

    1. Perform design within discipline-related area.  Identify problems related to routine work and determine solutions within scope of prescribed methodology.  Make timely and appropriate decisions within area of expertise.
    2. Demonstrate knowledge of engineering principles, theories, concepts, and techniques.  Also demonstrate basic project or discipline-related knowledge and understanding of discipline codes.
    3. Perform Project Engineering duties for small projects with limited scope.  Duties to include: a) Writing specifications and prepare summary reports, b) Estimating materials, services, time, and associated costs, c) Evaluating and selecting equipment and materials.
    4. Perform oral and written communication with suppliers, contractors, consultants, design drafting personnel, and peers.
    5. Develop engineering feasibility studies, engineering plans, and economic analysis of small projects with limited scope.
    6. Continue professional development.  Attend seminars, short courses and technical conferences on relevant technical subjects.
