Job Summary

We are currently seeking high-energy professionals who are results-focused with sound business acumen and problem-solving skills to join our dynamic organization as a Specialty Product Trading Analyst. Ideal candidates should be natural team players, eager to learn and grow, and have an eye for innovation and continuous improvement.

 

The successful candidate will be one with a solid understanding of refined products market fundamentals, with experience in natural gas, NGLs, and petrochemical analytics, able to grasp concepts quickly, proven ability to generate value through fundamental forecasts, market expertise, statistical modeling, and opportunity identification to support CITGO’s trading and origination activities. Must have an eye for detail and solid communication skills to coherently express ideas.

 

Conducts competitive product and pricing research and analysis based on clear direction from leaders.  Monitors short-to-medium term market trends and captures research using previously developed models. Adjusts models as necessary to provide real-time actionable forecasts and insight to impact trading strategy. Applies knowledge of statistical methods and date analysis from previous experience and/or education. 

Minimum Qualifications

Degree:

  • Bachelor’s Degree.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Economics & Finance coursework. Preferred.

The minimun number of years of job related experience required by this job is:

  • 2 years.

  • Self-starter with excellent communication skills and ability to multi-task in a dynamic high-pressure diverse team environment.
  • Demonstrated understanding and utilization of fundamental market data to generate insightful views, trading and origination strategies.
  • Demonstrated understanding of regional and/or global markets and arbitrage economics.
  • Leading the development and improvement of analytical tools.
  • Demonstrated experience using analytical and problem-solving techniques.
  • A valid driver’s license is required.

Job Duties

1. Maintain natural gas, NGL, and petrochemical supply/demand balances, industry turnaround models, and ship tracking analytics.

  • Independently generate fundamental forecasts up to a year out upon review of market data.

2. Develop unique market insights and independently translate these views into tradable ideas to be executed by the gasoline and distillate traders.

 

3. Develop domestic and international arbitrage tools.

 

4. Conduct ad-hoc analytics and research requests.

 

5. Share and eagerly learn analytics best practices with team members.
